The “Demirli” Ore Processing Complex
The “Dəmirli” Ore Processing Complex, located in the village of Canyataq in the Aghdara district of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is one of the strategically important projects for the development of the mining industry in the country’s liberated territories. The complex includes a copper flotation plant, a wet tailings storage facility, a power substation, and other infrastructure facilities. Reconstructed based on Turkish and German technologies, the facility operates a copper flotation plant with an annual ore processing capacity of 5.6 million tons, where ore extracted from the “Dəmirli” deposit is processed to produce copper concentrate.
The reconstruction and modernization works carried out within the framework of the project have made a significant contribution to the economic development of the region, the increase of export potential, and the strengthening of the non-oil sector. The complex is also managed in accordance with environmental standards; environmental monitoring systems such as dust and noise emission reduction, water recycling, laboratory analyses, and land reclamation measures are implemented.

The implementation of the project was carried out by Azerbaijan International Mining Company Limited, operating under an agreement signed between “AzerGold” CJSC and “R.V. Investment Group Services”.
The engineering company “IMEC” successfully participated as a technical partner in this large-scale strategic infrastructure project implemented within the framework of the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Within the project, our company carried out engineering support and technical supervision requiring high technical responsibility, repair and restoration of industrial equipment, as well as coordination of technical service (maintenance) processes. The pre-commissioning and commissioning (testing and start-up) stages to ensure the full safe and efficient operation of the systems were carried out by IMEC’s specialized engineering team in accordance with international standards.
